10 Facebook Pinay Mom-Groups You Should Follow

We may be WonderwoMOMs, but we are no Wonderwoman with the superpowers to do it all and alone. That is why, no matter how strong we are, we still need guiding hands and gentle pats on our backs from our families, friends, and our own tribe of like-minded moms with whom we can learn from and with.

One of the perks of being a millennial mom is the immediate accessibility to almost all the information we need. Joining groups nowadays has advanced from physical to virtual meetings where we can always consult and convene anytime, anywhere. With all the different social platforms available, it is very easy to find support groups that share our common needs and interests – whether as new and breastfeeding moms, as mompreneurs, WAHMs (work-at-home-moms) or even just as a typical millennial “woMom” who is constantly making her way through.

As I have mentioned in my first blog, I found a haven in the online community of Moms during the time I was struggling to adjust with my new life of being a mother. It was a great way for me to learn and be more confident on the things I was unsure of – and this and experience I would be glad to share to my fellow moms too.

In this post, I am going to make a list of 10 of the Facebook Pinay Mom-groups I actively joined or was added into by my friends. I have included some excerpts from their “About” section to give a brief context on what the group does, the current members they have at the time of this writing, and a few of my personal comments on them. I also have put in their Facebook link so you can visit their group page and join as you wish. They have different rules (e.g., no text speaking, English only page, no adding of husbands, no ads etc.) and questions which I suggest you carefully read and answer as you join.

I hope you may find what you need, and may it be hopefully be of help to you as it did to me.

1. Breastfeeding Pinays

  • Members – 255,270
  • Since – 2013
  • Linkhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/breastfeedingpinays/
  • Personal Notes – I think this is the first and, by far, the largest online community of Pinay moms I have joined in Facebook. I connected to them when I was trying to breastfeed my son. Although I was not successful in this journey with my first-born, I still find this page helpful as this is the most informative group of EBF (Exclusively breastfeeding) moms. Just watch out for some mommies who may get a little assertive in promoting exclusive breastfeeding.

2. Expressers Pumping Moms PH

  •  About“Is a community of like-minded mommies that pumps and latches on. This is a Filipino support group for those who exclusively express/ pump breast milk, be that through choice, difficulties breastfeeding or because they had a premature or special needs baby.”
  • Members – 63,410
  • Since – 2015
  • Linkhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/ExpressersPumpimgMomsPH/
  • Personal Notes –I had difficulties with exclusively breastfeeding my son so I resorted to expressing my milk to still be able to feed him with BM. Because of this, I tried to look for a Facebook group of moms who does the same thing – and I found them. This was where I was able to find recommendations and advice on getting my electric breast-pumps and other resource materials for storing my breastmilk.

3. Formula Feeding Moms PH

  • About“This group is for formula feeding moms. I created this group to support mamas who formula feed their child and make them feel that it is not a crime if you choose formula feeding, that you are not a bad mom if you could not breastfeed and that it is okay to feed your LO (Little One) with formula milk.”
  • Members – 14,076
  • Since – 2014
  • Linkhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/559758564147095/
  • Personal Notes – I joined this group almost the same time I joined Expressers Pumping Moms PH. Because my milk output was average and my son feeds heavily, I needed to feed him also with formula. And I totally agree with endeavor of this group of making moms feel that, although it is best to breastfeed, you become nothing less of a mother when you give formula to your LO (Little One). Here you can freely ask any of your concerns and question in formula feeding or if you are switching from Breastfeeding to Formula feeding.

4. Babywearing Philippines

  • About“BWP is a support group that focuses on safe, responsible and proper babywearing. We are here to help and guide parents and caregivers throughout their babywearing journey. Although we are primarily an online-based learning facility, we hold meet-ups as well, enabling our members to practice optimal positioning and try different types of ergonomic carriers.”
  • Members – 60,660
  • Since – 2014
  • Linkhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/BabywearingPhilippines/
  • Personal Notes – Newborns are usually very clingy little beings and they always like to be carried, just like my son – that was when I was introduced to babywearing. This group is a good source of the know-hows of babywearing and referrals of the best brands of baby slings or wrap carriers. You can also even post your own picture here and ask them if you are wearing your baby right. This is a perfect group for new and stay-at-home moms who does not have helpers or yayas and would like to try babywearing.

5. Cloth Diaper Advocates Philippines (Formerly Cloth Diaper Addicts PH)

  • About“This group was created to be a haven for everyone who would like to learn more about cloth diapering in an environment full of fun, camaraderie and mutual respect. Members of this group are bound together by the love for cloth diapers.”
  • Members – 37,958
  • Since – 2015
  • Linkhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/clothdiaperaddictsph/
  • Personal notes – Cloth diapering, inserts and shells were all foreign to me and this group helped me understand it more. This was the diapering strategy I was so eager to apply with my LO because it is more practical and environmental-friendly. Sadly, I have been too overwhelmed after giving birth to actually apply it regularly (though I already have a few stashes of CDs myself). But I still remain a member because this group will surely come in handy when I decide to give Cloth diapering another try.

6. Healthy Baby Food Ideas

  • About“Healthy Baby Food Ideas Philippines is a Facebook community that aims to help parents who need ideas on how to prepare healthy and nutritious food for their little ones.”
  • Members – 34,141
  • Since – 2017
  • Linkhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/healthybabyandkidsfoodideas/
  • Personal notes – Finding this group was a relief when my LO started to feed on solids. It was challenging to prepare, let alone think of food ideas while making sure you are giving your baby the proper nutrition she/he needs. This group made this so much easier for me until now. They have albums for ideas on travel food, veggie recipes, table food, fruits and rice meals which can help you make solid-feeding your baby effortless and more fun.

7. Glam-O-Mama’s

  • About“This has been set up for discussions on motherhood and womenhood and life. I hope that it becomes an invaluable resource for information and support amongst us women. This group is a safe place to get your questions on motherhood (and LIFE) answered by likeminded moms and women.”
  • Members – 34,487
  • Since – 2014
  • Linkhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/GlamomamasDiscussions/
  • Personal Notes – This is the group that I have been most active among the others in this list. Initiated by the fabulous TV Personality Amanda Griffin-Jacob, this is by far my most favorite FB Pinay mom group of all. Mommies here are very professional, witty and caring and I rarely see animosity and judgment on the discussions. They also have very engaging and diverse threads, suited for Moms and WoMoms, that you will surely enjoy reading and participating with.

8. Filipina Homebased Moms

  • About“We are dedicated to help all Filipina moms out there who are aspiring to work from home, be able to land the online jobs they deem of having, through the support group we came up with over Facebook. Through this group, we aim to cater to all the needs of fellow freelance working Pinay moms.”
  • Members – 113,530
  • Since – 2017
  • Linkhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/fhmoms/
  • Personal Notes – I joined this group not only because I am a WAHM myself and wanted to know more strategies and success stories of work-at-home moms, but also because this group has been long working on one of my visions of having more MoMillennial Pinays achieving professional growth and success at the comfort of their own homes, where their children are. This group have informative webinars and tips or referrals on finding online jobs. The growing members of this group is a manifestation that the future of remote work is indeed getting brighter.

9. MOMpreneurs Club PH

  • About“MOMpreneurs Club PH aims to motivate and inspire Moms to turn their PASSION and STRENGTHS into a profitable venture. This community will serve as a support group for all Mommas who seek growth through entrepreneurship. • Members – 2018
  • Since – 5,722
  • Linkhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/MOMpreneursClubPH/
  • Personal Notes – I just recently discovered this group and it would be a shame to not include it on this list because I really love discussions from finance-savvy and business-minded moms. And being an aspiring Mompreneur myself, this group is a huge inspiration. What I like about it is that they have categorized their posts into hashtags (i.e., #AdvicePlease, #LookingFor, #Motivation, etc.) and they have several entrepreneurial tips on starting-up, branding and social media. They also have marketing threads where so you can post a link to promote your online or offline business brands.

10. Smart Parenting Village

  • About“Is a comfort zone for parents — and a community free of judgment. At Smart Parenting, we want to provide parents with the tools to help them become aware of their parenting style, discover the kind of parents they want to be, and, most importantly, guide them how to embrace it. We are all about mindful and confident parenting.”
  • Members – 31,961
  • Since – 2017
  • Linkhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/SmartParentingVillage/
  • Personal Notes – This is the official FB group of the popular parenting website smartparenting.com.ph. This group is like the other groups mentioned above as you can also post almost anything about motherhood and parenting in general. What I liked about it though is that this group can also be joined for our husbands to learn as well.

And that’s it!

Before I end this post, I would like to remind all the MoMillennials reading this and who intends to join any of the groups I have listed above to always be mindful of your words and to avoid any kind of discriminatory and derogatory remarks to your fellow mommies, regardless of how differing your opinions may be. Mom-shaming will always be a big no so, let us keep our online community of moms bonded with respect and love.

Please show your care by sharing or tagging this post to your friends who are moms, soon-to-be moms, planning-to-be moms and also to your husbands, who might need the references above.
