Finally – The MoMillennial Pinay Blog is up!
I make lists. I love lists. I have been doing it since I started to have the interest in writing and putting my thoughts in paper. When I was a teenager, I would find joy having blank sheets and filling it with words, numbers, and bullets in categories. From things-to-do, favorite songs, to just about everything – I find relief in organizing all these random brainwork in a list. This had been a valuable practice for me as I became a working professional because it helped me accomplish things bit-by-bit. It kept me on track of my tasks and made it easier for me to find references without the need of burrowing again on the internet.
Now that I am a WAHM (Work-At-Home Mom), this habit even more become a necessity. Being a new millennial mother, whose life and career have taken a drastic turn, and who is continuously enjoying and surviving the daily joys and pains of motherhood – things get overwhelming. Making lists has been sort of therapeutic for me. It turned into a process of unloading and unifying my thoughts. It made me focus more and have fun even in the most trivial things.
This blog was something I have been wanting to start since last year – a few months after giving birth to my son. This was the stage when my vulnerability to a lot of frustrations was highest. Despite the help I was getting, I still felt unsure and lacking the support that I need. So, I resorted to the internet, made Google my best friend and “Search” my favorite word. I was thankful because, through this, I discovered the online mom-communities that have helped me tremendously. It has given me comfort knowing that I am not alone after seeing a lot of new mothers like me, searching and asking the same questions and venting the same sentiments on the mom-groups I have joined. I was amazed by how these cluster of mommies, who are strangers, become family by supporting and helping each other through the generosity of sharing their own thoughts and experiences. From breastfeeding and cloth diapering down to what best teething gel to use – finding answers, relatable topics and sound advices are so much easier with these amazing mommies – and I love it!
I have been a silent reader since and have benefited a lot from connecting with these virtual communities. However, with all the information available, there are times when I wished to have some sort of collation of the topics and answers from these social media platforms. I wanted something concise but informative enough – all in one area – suited for Moms like me who want it quick and do not have the luxury of time to dig-in past posts. So, the organizer in me thought, why not create more lists? And this time, not only for myself but for all my fellow moms and other people to see.
Now here I am, finally starting this blog with the aim to gather fun and helpful links, FAQs, references, resources and recommendations about motherhood and things relevant to millennial Pinays – all of which that I can find in the online blogs, pages and groups that I follow, including those coming from the personal journeys of a few of my MoMillennial friends. My goal is to collect and categorize these information and present it through a list to make it easier to search and understand.
Apart from these, I also would like this blog to be an avenue of my thoughts to share and care, with the hope to learn and reach out not only to the most wonderful Mommas (New Moms, Moms-to-be, WAHMs/SAHMs, Office working Moms, Single Mommies) but also to all the beautiful, headstrong and driven women (Single ladies, Newly-weds, Wives, Travelers, Professionals, Mompreneurs, Daughters, etc.) and millennials who are all continuously thriving and surviving this beautiful quest of womanhood and life. 😊
